Biography
Born in Rochester, NY, James moved to Shongaloo, Louisiana at the age of 5 where he was raised by his father and grandmother.
James earned a BA in Biology from Centenary College of Louisiana in 2017 where he would become a 3-time NCAA Division III All-American for the Men’s Basketball Program. While at Centenary, James was involved in the Shreveport community through his Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. membership.
James then enrolled in LSU-Shreveport’s Master of Public Health Program so that he could better understand the factors that contribute to patient health as well as the barriers to healthcare that many minorities in America encounter. While attending the program, James worked as an Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology Scribe. After earning his MPH, James was accepted to LSU-New Orleans’ Physician Assistant Program. Because of his small-town upbringing, where the nearest specialists were often over 50 miles away, James wants to focus his career as a PA in primary care so that he can be at the forefront of addressing patient’s medical needs.
His favorite sports teams are the New York Yankees, Buffalo Bills, New York Knicks and LSU Football.
