Dr. Tabacco is the medical director and team physician of George Washington University Athletics and Georgetown Preparatory School. Dr Tabacco has also served as the team physician for the NFL Washington football team for the past 7 years.

Dr. Tabacco enjoys team sports, he loves the games of football and lacrosse. On the east coast, he enjoys playing in recreational lacrosse leagues. At home, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Peggy, and daughter, Penny.
Biography
As a former 7 year team physician to NFL’s Washington Football Team and a current member of the NFLPA Mackey -White Health and Safety Comittee and Medical director to George Washington University Athletics Dr. John Tabacco is board certified in both Sports medicine and Internal medicine and treats all manners of athletic health from joint pain to concussions and asthma. Whether your sport is football, running, or the leisurely walk around the block we strive to get patients back into the game as quickly and safely as possible.
Dr. Tabacco specializes in the non-operative care of musculoskeletal injuries and has conducted extensive research and training in the application and use of Platelet Rich Plasma, Adult Mesenchymal Stem Cell treatments, as well as the use of ultrasound in diagnosis and treatment.
Dr Tabacco has presented his research and clinical outcomes of Platelet rich plasma and adult stem cell injections at National conferences most recently as part of the NFL Physicians Society at the NFL scouting combine alongside his mentor Dr James Andrews.
In addition to non-operative treatment of joint pain, Dr. Tabacco also treats concussions, chronic illnesses, and general medical problems.Dr. Tabacco is a medical director for GW University and Georgetown Prep hoyas and is located exclusively at the Falls Church office.
