On September 6, 2022, Philips Respironics announced a voluntary recall of over 17 million CPAP/BIPAP masks that are used by people living with sleep apnea or other respiratory health issues. The recall pertains to people using these masks who have implanted metallic medical devices or other metallic objects in their body. The recall is due to risks related to the magnets on the masks that may affect some implanted medical devices or implanted metal objects.
Five mask types are affected by this recall: the DreamWisp, DreamWear Full Face Mask (not nasal mask), Amara View, Wisp and Wisp Youth masks.

After serving in the U.S. Navy, Dr. Zimmet joined PMA Health in 1974 upon completing his training at the University of Virginia and Georgetown University. We are pleased to announce that two new providers will be joining PMA in August, Dr. Ellen Sternenberger and Faith Saunders, PA-C. Dr. Sternenberger completed her residency in Internal Medicine (primary care track) at the University of Maryland where she also attended medical school. She did her undergraduate degree at the College of Charleston and was raised in the Washington metropolitan area. Faith is currently working with Virginia Emergency Medicine Associates in a fast paced Emergency Department setting and also serves as the Director of their scribe program. Faith did her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies at GWU and attended Va Tech as an undergraduate.
